Sickness and Emergency
First Aid is administered by a Senior First Aid Officer. When a serious accident/incident occurs at school, or an ambulance is called, families will be contacted immediately. The school must be notified of any changes to current phone numbers and emergency contact numbers. Teaching staff at Adelaide West Special Education Centre have a minimum current first aid qualification of Basic Emergency Life Support (BELS) and many staff have a current Senior First Aid qualification including CPR.
Many of our students are medically fragile. Any students who are sick must not attend school. If a student becomes unwell at school, it is expected that parents or the emergency contact person will come to school and take the child into their care.
