Curriculum

Information Communication Technology (ICT)

Learning activities using technology occur across all curriculum areas with students working individually, in small groups and in class groups. Goals relating to the use of specific technologies are included in each student’s Negotiated Education Plan. The use of technology features prominently in communication goals and programs.

Depending upon a student’s stage of development, activities using technology may include computers, appliances and other equipment.

At Adelaide West Special Education Centre learning environments include:

  • assist in the development of concepts of "self" and "cause & effect"
  • increase attention, sustained focus, consistency and timing
  • learn to use adapted equipment to control appliances, computers, communication equipment and other items
  • participate in work and leisure activities
